All the stuff you’d expect to find in a profile.
I’ve been working in the personal growth and development sector for 17 years. From 1992 to 1999, I worked as a Integrated Breath Therapist and Reiki Healer during which time I worked with over 400 people either one on one, or in support groups or seminars. During that time I also designed and presented a range of seminars and workshops which covered subjects and themes such as meditation, the inner child, soul connection and relationship communication skills.
From 2000 to the present day I’ve worked as a writer and consultant to businesses big and small, invariably offering personal insight and counsel over and beyond the writing brief I had been presented with. I’ve written for The Times, and Observer newspaper, The Ecologist magazine, produced BBC Radio Documentaries, co-authored Working Ethically, praise by Management Today magazine as best of its kind, and self published a children’s book. I’ve helped numerous professionals and organisations through my Visionary Brilliance consultancy to better communicate their passion and purpose, and as a marketing consultant I have also created marketing communications for brands such as Canon, Arup Engineering, Microsoft, NTL, Deloitte Touche, Colt Telecom, Hewlett Packard, and British Telecom.
In 2005, I discovered Co-Active Coaching, through the Coaches Training Institute, and there found the perfect marriage of my love of language and passion for supporting others to flourish to their full potential. Today I work as a Co-Active Coach, and am continuing my professional development, as a participant in CTI’s prestigious, ten month, Co-Active Leadership program.
I have a BA Hons in Journalism, and MA in Radio and TV Scriptwriting.
All the stuff you probably don’t expect to find.
I’m deeply passionate about world peace and endless enthusiastic that everyone can make a difference, but sometimes find myself disappointed when it doesn’t happen fast enough. I’m persistent to the point of being stubborn, and wildly irreverent which while often very funny, is occasionally misread as rudeness.
I’ve been married and divorced within a year, which in hindsight was a mistake I was happy to make because it gave me the courage to accept that others don’t always want the same thing as me. Today, I still value the institution of marriage, but find myself blissfully unmarried in a relationship with my best friend and love of my life, with whom I have two incredible children. My children are my teachers. Every day they call me forth to be the best person I can possibly be. I’m acutely aware of the need to set a good example by pursuing the life of my dreams, and by modeling the self acceptance required to deal with set backs and failures along the way.
I’ve been involved in enough spiritual groups, all with their own unique vision of world peace, long enough to know the difference between zealotry and genuine enthusiasm for a better world. Today, I’m group and groupie free, and passionate about my connection to God, as I see Him, Her, or It, and likely to find the divine revealed in my daily spiritual practice of meditation and prayer, as I am in everyday life and sporting endeavour – darts, snooker, skiing, canyoning, and a kick around in the park with a bunch of other ailing 40 somethings included.
I’ve never had a near death experience, but in 2001 nearly died after an acute allergic reaction. I lost half my blood, and was 20 hours away from major organ failure. During this time, before an angel haematologist came to my rescue, I realised just how precious this life is, and vowed to live it fully, without exception or apology. Since then, more than ever, I’ve learned what it truly means to be rich.
